Cami Issues….

So, when my daughter was about 4 years old, I found these GREAT camisoles for her to wear.  I needed them in the winter when she was just a little chilly, and they were great for shirts and dresses that cam down low in the front or gaped a bit.  They were plain in the front, came up nice and high, and had adjustable lingerie straps.

And she loved them.

And she wore one every day over the winter, and then every day over the summer… and so on and so forth, until a cami habit was formed.  They are great as she gets older and some of the styles scoop down in the front.  Mostly, she just formed a habit of wearing a cami…. and as habits go, it is one I felt pretty good about :)

For the next 2 years.  And every year I buy about 3 white ones and 2 black ones and 1 or two pink ones…

And this spring they changed the style on me.

It may or may not be noticible in this pic, but there is now gathering/puckering along the neckline(like, it is meant to be seen).  And the neckline is lower.

Grrrr…..

Now, the truth is, my daughter is 6 and does not “need” to wear a cami under everything she wears. BUT she likes it.  And is used to it.  And to be honest, its a relief to me that she is developing modest habits at a young age.  She appreciates being modest and values it for herself (I totally realize that this may change as she gets older:)

But, what do I do?  I mean, besides forcing her to get used to not wearing a cami…

Some of my modest retailers used to carry great cami’s for kids too, but they seem to all have discontinued those styles…(if any of you read my blog- why did you discontinue them???)

Any thoughts?

Any ideas of places to check?  On of my favorite things about the Target cami’s is that they were $5.99(read….. CHEAP).

  1. Have you tried Old Navy? I see they have some online, on sale:

No idea if they are modest enough though?

  2. I have no idea about kids’ camis – I just know that of the camis I tried to wear growing up, they *never* fit. They *always* showed too much. I finally found some a few years ago at Ann Taylor that didn’t go crazy, and then some at Target, and then some at Norm Thompson, a store that I’d never heard of before they sent me a catalog…

Anyway, good luck! I think they are awesome when they aren’t frustrating! :)

  3. LOL – I didn’t realize that tag line stuck around from post to post. Sorry!
